In autumn 2006 Nintendo came up with a novel way of using the game controller providing the player with a much greater interactivity. Nintendo wii console won several awards and is perhaps the most revolutionary video game console on the market right now.

This is a wireless one handed controller that enables the end user to physically interact with the game; the movement of the console is transferred to the screen in 3D.
The controller makes use of infrared sensors and accelerometers that are super sensitive to the user's movements and can detect the way it is positioned in a three dimensional platform.
With the wii controller, a gamer can play in a much more natural way using his or her movements rather than mere button-pressing. So, for example, if you were playing a computerized game of tennis, you would swing the wii controller as if it were a tennis racket in a real game of tennis.
